What is FLEXCRACKING?
“Flex cracking is caused by the movement of the liquid inside the bag, and it is most likely to happen where the film is in proximity to the upper part of the liquid.
Flex cracking can occur during shipping and handling of even the smallest fluid-liquid containing bag.”
How to prevent FLEXCRACKING?
“In order to prevent flex cracking phenomena we suggest to use a dunnage to fill the “head space” between the top of the filled bag and the lid of the drum. Dunnage can be any
material that will compress to fill the space on the top of the filled bag and prevent the wave action of the liquid during transportation. ”
HANSIN already have a new generation of Aseptic bags with a better flex cracking resistance.
In our R&D dept. we are testing new updated formulations of laminates and films. Because the Flex cracking phenomena depend on many different factors (kind of product,
viscosity, different transportation, temperature, etc.) we suggest to our customers to run some tests before to decide to avoid to put the dunnage.”
